Introduction of Ambrosial, a new bakery that specializes in gluten-free snacks

Gluten-free bakery in Provo Ambrosial, a new bakery offering entirely gluten-free snacks, opened its doors on February 24 and 25, attracting a growing customer base with its delicious treats. The owner, Alisha McIntosh, is a classically trained baker who has been running a successful business at the Provo Farmers Market for six seasons. However, with a desire to expand and reach more people with her gluten-free snacks, she decided to open Ambrosial.

McIntosh’s goal to provide delicious gluten-free treats for everyone, regardless of dietary restrictions

Despite the focus on gluten-free snacks, McIntosh’s goal is for everyone to come and enjoy her treats, regardless of whether they have a wheat allergy or gluten sensitivity. She believes that the snacks are good in their own right and not just good “despite the fact that they’re gluten-free,” as she puts it.

Positive customer feedback, including from a customer with celiac disease

One customer who was particularly impressed with Ambrosial was BYU student Emma Griffin, who has been diagnosed with celiac disease since she was six years old. Griffin has tried gluten-free bakeries all over the country and rates Ambrosial as one of her favorites. She describes the cinnamon rolls as the best she has ever had.

Upon entering Ambrosial, customers are greeted with the irresistible smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls and the eye-catching pink and gold wall with a neon sign that reads, “bake some magic.”

At the grand opening, McIntosh was on hand to greet customers, while also preparing another batch of delicious gluten-free snacks in the bakery’s kitchen. Some customers were long-time friends from the farmers market days, while others were new to Ambrosial. To celebrate the opening, visitors were given free s’mores bars.

McIntosh’s dedication to her customers and her journey to perfect her gluten-free recipes

McIntosh’s husband, Alex McIntosh, believes that what sets Ambrosial apart is his wife’s dedication to her customers. He notes that she takes the time to get to know them, often knowing many of them on a first-name basis.

Alisha McIntosh’s own journey to gluten-free baking was not an easy one. After being diagnosed with celiac disease, she initially struggled to find a gluten-free baking mix that tasted good. However, she was determined to create delicious gluten-free snacks, using her culinary school training to perfect her recipes. Her chocolate chip cookie recipe alone went through 50 iterations before she was satisfied with the result.

At the farmers market, many people were surprised to learn that McIntosh’s treats were gluten-free, as they tasted so good. McIntosh is now grateful for her husband’s supportive role in helping her bring Ambrosial to life.

With three young children, Ambrosial is currently only open on the weekends. However, as McIntosh trains more people, she hopes to open the bakery more during the week. The menu will rotate based on what is popular, but the cinnamon rolls will always be available. Overall, Ambrosial is a great place for anyone looking for delicious gluten-free snacks or a sweet treat.
